Make the universe your companion, always bearing in mind the true nature of things—mountains and rivers, trees and grasses, and humanity—and enjoy the falling blossoms and the scattering leaves. ~Bashō

Mindful Writing Challenge Jan '13
I'm not sure if I'm participating in the Mindful Writing Challenge, hosted by Fiona and Kaspalita from Writing Our Way Home. It has already started a few days ago and I've been suffering from the winter blues. Tonight I'm not even in the mood for anything at all. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll see things differently.

Find Three Minutes
You're invited to join the very first ever Mindful Writing Day 2012 on November 1. All you have to do is find three minutes to write a small stone. Yes, just three minutes. It's that easy. Pay close attention to one thing by using your five senses, and then write it down. Examples of small stones can be read at this blogzine, a handful of stones.
You may post it on your blog, Facebook, Twitter (using #smallstone), or G+. You may also write it on your journal or email it to you friend.
Ask your friends to join you by inviting them to the Mindful Writing Day on Facebook. This way you can help spread all over the world the benefits of mindful writing.
Fiona Robyn and Kaspalita Thompson will be publishing all the small stones on their Writing Our Home blog and will be giving away five paperback copies of A Blackbird Sings to their favorites. And also, as a special gift to all on this day, they'll be making this anthology of short poems FREE on Kindle.

A Blackbird Sings
Finally, I received a pdf copy of A Blackbird Sings, the 2nd anthology of small stones edited by Kaspalita and Fiona Robyn. I'm so pleased because among my five small stones that were published last year in A Handful of Stones, two were chosen to be included in this anthology.

I'm also honored because in it are works of some of the poets I've met in the haiku community - Sanjuktaa Asopa, Johannes S. H. Berg, Kirsten Cliff, Aubrie Cox, Kat Creighton, Terri Hale French, Stella Pierides, Christina Nguyen, Pravat Kumar Padhy, Alan Summers, and Kathy Uyen Nguyen.
I encourage you to read more about A Blackbird Sings by clicking here and to join the first ever Mindful Writing Day on November 1. On that day, a Kindle edition of the anthology will be free to download and 5 paperback copies will be given away. For more details, click
