I'm so honored to have my haiga posted on Ramona Linke's blog Haiku-Art as Haiga of the Month (September 2012). I actually, wrote this haiku for Jens-Christian Kjaer's photo on Poem to Picture . Ramona happened to see that I posted it here so she asked me if she could feature it on her blog. Why not? I was actually pleased and very honored because I was asked by an award-winning haiku poet. ;-) To refresh your memory, she was the one who won the Excellence Award in the Setouchi Matsuyama Photo Haiku Contest.
Make the universe your companion, always bearing in mind the true nature of things—mountains and rivers, trees and grasses, and humanity—and enjoy the falling blossoms and the scattering leaves. ~Bashō

Poem to Picture
This photo is from Ashi's Poem to Picture. Instead of writing about a rusty plug. I wrote a haiku about a rusty bike.
rusty bike...
each squeak loosens up

As of January 28, 2012, I'm one of the participating poets in Ashi's blog. He welcomes readers to submit photos by email or to write a haiku for a particular photo by comment. Browsing his site, I was able to find more inspiration. His numerous photos are admirable, including the ones that are in his other blogs.
From his haiku collection, I found another website, which I hope will be another home for my haiku and photos. It's called The Four Seasons of Haiku, a community of haiku poets recording their experiences of the seasons in haiku, senryu, tanka, and haibun. I'm excited to be included among talented poets.
