August Blog Bash, Day 6

Today's feature for August Blog Bash 2012 is yours truly. I'm sharing two of my favorite works, which I hope all of Kathy Uyen Nguyen's followers will enjoy.
The first one is my "Fairy Moon." Among the numerous cross stitch designs I've diligently worked on, this is my favorite. I used to sew a lot and was hooked on adding sparkly beads to my cross stitch designs. This took the longest to finish. But like magic, it turned out more enchanting than I expected.
The next one has something to do with magic, too. It's my first published children's story entitled The Magic Paintbrush. I still can't believe that it's the #1 Top 7 knowonder! stories (as voted by readers). I think Alexa has something to do with it. ;-)
Please read Kathy Uyen Nguyen's write-up for Day 6 here and check out the daily posts to discover all the authors/artists featured for the whole month. So far, I've been very impressed with these recent contributers: S. M. Abeles (Day 1), Jessica Tremblay (Day 2), Johannes S. H. Bjerg (Day 3), Lana Phillips (Day 4), and Stella Pierides (Aug. 5).

  1. Your Fairy Moon cross-stitch is a work of art, Christine! I enjoyed reading The Magic Paintbrush too. Congratulations on being the #1 Top 7 knowonder stories. I hope you will write more stories for children.

Kathy is really awesome in thinking up of this blog bash. I enjoyed getting to know you and the other participants so far.

  2. Thank you so much, Asni, for regularly checking my blog. If I can touch at least one person, I'm truly happy. :-)
I know... I should find time to write stories for children again. I have to be in a different zone and it's hard nowadays. But what I like about it, it transport me temporarily to another world where everything can happen. It's pure bliss for me.
I write haiku nowadays because it doesn't take too much of my time.
Yes, Kathy has always been good that way. She promotes everybody's work :-) I also enjoy it because I get to know more about each one. I can't wait for yours to come up. :_)

  3. I believe it touches more than one person. It's just that some people are comment-shy! Mine is nothing much. I hope people will not be disappointed after reading Aubrie Cox today!

  5. Oh, I just understood what you're trying to say here. No, readers will not be disappointed. I'm sure yours is worthy of praises, You've gone a long way with such a short time. Not all poets can easily grasp haiku. It takes a lot of practice to polish one's style. You're doing the right thing by participating in any way you can and by learning from others. Well, I'm assuming that you're sharing your best haiku. Am I right?
